Air Logistics Welcomes C.A.L Expansion at JFK
Air Logistics America is pleased to welcome C.A.L. Cargo Air Lines third weekly B747 freighter rotation to New York ’s JFK airport which commences February 1 st . This new scheduled operation will add a much-needed Saturday morning departure that compliments C.A.L’s existing Thursday and Sunday flights which service LGG and TLV. Space on both freighters consistently sells-out quickly so the introduction of additional weekend capacity is viewed as a commercially viable step.
“We work very hard to offer JFK shippers a superior product to both Tel Aviv and Europe ,” comments C.A.L’s U.S. Manager, Ronen Regermen. “Our load-factors have been extremely heavy and consistent---we’re turning away cargo regardless of the season which is a problem any freighter airline from JFK would like to have.”
As the General Sales Agent for C.A.L. in the U.S. , Air Logistics America provides sales and service support both at JFK and their network of offices across the country. Managing Director Henry Miller comments: “This is an extremely well run and commercially savvy carrier; it’s no wonder that demand has been so high. Much of this stems from delivering a very consistent product which is carefully managed; from selling the service to loading the aircraft, we watch everything.”
As synonymous as C.A.L. is with top-shelf freighter service to the Israeli market, their stopover connections in Liege , Belgium have made substantial commercial gains. Facilitated by a well orchestrated intra-Europe tucking program, a typical C.A.L. departure from New York will be a well blended load of European destinations that range from The Benelux to France . Additionally, a C.A.L. manifest frequently shows irregular commodities such as aircraft engines, perishables and outsized freight.
Regermen admits this wasn’t always the case, “18 months ago most shippers thought of us as strictly a Tel Aviv carrier and now that’s changed 180 degrees. We’re seeing steady loads into Europe which provide us with a balanced revenue picture from JFK. And service to both regions has been excellent so word is getting around---we get lots of repeat business.”

Air Logistics Builds in U.S. Southeast
As part of its ongoing expansion in the U.S. Southern region, Air Logistics America is pleased to welcome both Aer Lingus and Singapore Airlines Cargo as recent additions to it’s portfolio of quality air cargo products.
December 1 brought about the introduction of Aer Lingus Cargo for Air Logistics and its long-established Atlanta sales office. Offering non-stop, double daily service from New York (JFK) to Ireland , this legacy carrier offers “best in market” service with reliable and timely feeds directly from the greater Atlanta region. As an established and well regarded air freight product in numerous U.S. gateways, Aer Lingus’ unique brand of service has quickly become popular in the southeast market.
Air Logistics is also proud to welcome onboard Singapore Airlines Cargo which will be marketed from both their Miami and Atlanta regional offices. Under the terms of the contract, Air Logistics will apply dedicated sales resources to successfully commercialize Singapore Cargo’s worldwide cargo network that includes Asia, Europe, India, the Middle East and beyond. Already an established name brand in the Georgia region, Singapore Cargo will make full use of Air Logistics Miami and Atlanta offices to realize significant turnover increases while bringing dynamic and respected cargo products to the southeastern U.S.
“The timing of these two additions to our Southeast sales region couldn’t have been better,” said Air Logistics U.S. manager, Henry Miller. “These are two very well recognized and respected carriers that will provide our customers reliability, security and superior value. They dovetail perfectly with our business philosophy of offering only established and recognized air freight products that have both a strong commercial appeal and that our customers genuinely want to buy. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
The addition of these two carriers puts a period on a record-setting year for Air Logistics U.S. operation that marked a measured increase in their U.S. infrastructure that fell in step with a sales growth figure in excess of 40%.
Air Logistics America operates company owned and operated airport facilities in New York , Chicago , Atlanta , Washington D.C. and Miami in addition to sales outlets in Houston , Dallas and Los Angeles .

AIR LOGISTICS ACHIEVES IATA RECOGNITION
Air Logistics Ltd, the UK division of the Sales and Service partner Air Logistics Group, is the first organisation to be appointed world wide as an IATA General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) under a new programme recently launched by IATA.
‘The IATA brand is one of the strongest in the cargo industry, it carries the weight of more than fifty years of service to the Air Transport Industry,’ comments the founder of Air Logistics Stephen Dawkins. ‘This is a fantastic achievement for the Directors of the Company, our Airline Partners and especially our staff who have made a major contribution to achieving this accreditation in probably the most difficult 2 years in Aviation History’.
IATA and the airline industry have always appreciated the valuable
role provided by GSAs who achieve cost-effective presence in a market
where it may have been uneconomic for an airline to maintain its own
sales force and premises. The role of the GSA has evolved to the extent
that it is no longer simply a sales office; increasingly it performs
a wider range of duties for its airline Principal(s). IATA is aware of
the importance of the GSA’s contribution to a successful Cargo Industry and therefore it has created a recognition award process, which enabled GSSA’s
to attain an IATA certification.
Colin Stevenson, IATA’s Director Cargo, responsible for cargo operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa comments, ‘In a complex world of logistical solutions, today’s GSSA’s have brought innovative engineering to the Cargo industry of modern times. With today’s global economic shifts, the GSSA’s value is perceived in their ability to adapt quickly to market changes. Branching out into many intricate avenues, they play a key role for many airlines, which, for economic and or expanding operations purposes, outsource their total cargo activity to a GSSA’.
‘The IATA GSSA accreditation programme is designed to expand business recognition of GSSA’s across the globe. The key focus of the programme is to enhance the role and reputation of GSSAs. It is a credit to Air Logistics Ltd. in the UK that they have become the first organisation in the world to meet the IATA criteria and be appointed an IATA GSSA,’ he
concludes.
Air Logistics Ltd. was founded in 1994 and has established itself as a key sales and service partner within the UK Cargo Industry to carriers such as US Airways, Lanchile, CAL Cargo Airlines, Air Zimbabwe and Ethiopian Airlines.
‘Since establishment of the Company we have continued to strive to provide a high quality of service, not only to our airline partners but also to our freight forwarding clients on behalf of the airlines we represent,’ comments
Dawkins, ‘IATA accreditation enforces our continued commitment to maintaining the highest levels of service’.
The recognition of Air Logistics Ltd. comes at a time amidst rapidly
changing attitudes amongst airlines towards outsourcing to specialists.
Economies of scale and unified standards with IT based management solutions,
are more likely to be core functions in a third party GSSA Company than
within airlines that are continually looking for ways to reduce costs.‘The internationally accepted IATA logo brings distinction and professional recognition and it will enhance our Company’s image to prospective clients,’ concludes
Dawkins.
